Luther Elementary Computer Literacy: Targeted Goals
Grade 1: By the end of the year, most students will be able to:
- Employ typing techniques and strategies
- Log in to computers in 30 seconds or less
- Recognize and utilize Microsoft Office programs (Word/Powerpoint)
- Enter addresses, navigate sites w/click and point
- Utilize teacher-led Google searches to discover and explore
Grade 2: By the end of the year, most students will be able to:
- Type at 10+ words per minute (5-7 minutes to type pre-written paragraph)
- Log in to computers AND Google Drive
- Demonstrate basic word processing skills using Word/Docs (typing, saving/opening, changing fonts, foundational editing)
- Access sites for AR reading and research purposes
- Utilize images and text in class assignments
Each 1st - 4th grade class visits the computer lab every week. Our Computer Literacy class is staffed with a credentialed teacher.
